2023 Local 506 Election for Vice President

Hello Members of Unifor Local 506:

This is Angela Davis, Chair of the 2023 Election Committee with an update today for members regarding the election for Unifor Local 506 Vice President.

For the position of Vice President there were two nominations. Stéphane Lamoureux accepted the nomination at the September 26th Region 2 union meeting and Aaron Harquail accepted the nomination via email.

Voting will be online and members will receive an email from Simply Voting on Sunday, October 15th with a password and link where you can cast your vote. Please add vote@simplyvoting.com to your safe-senders list to ensure you receive the email from Simply Voting.

The voting will take place from Sunday, October 15th at 12:01 AM to Tuesday, October 31st 11:59 PM. The resumés for each candidate will appear in a link below each candidate’s name on the voting website.

Please note that if we do not have your personal email address on file, the email message will be sent to your work email. If you do not receive the email at your personal or work email address, please contact the union office at 506-634-8810 or by email at yvonne.fox@unifor506.ca. (The email may be in your junk/trash/spam folder so please check that first before contacting the union office)

Election results will be announced on November 1, 2023 and the new Vice President will be sworn in at the December Executive Board meeting.

Hello Members of Unifor Local 506:

This is Angela Davis, chair of the 2023 Election Committee with an update for members regarding the upcoming election this fall.  Local 506 will be accepting nominations for the following position:

• Unifor Local 506 Vice President

The Local will be accepting nominations both by email and at the following September Sub-Local Union meetings:

• Region 1 – Saint John Union meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 19^th 5:30 PM at the Union Office, 1655 Manawagonish Road.
• Region 2 – Moncton Unionmeeting scheduled forTuesday, September 26^th 6 PM in the Tower Room at Botsford Street.
• Region 3 – Fredericton union meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 19^th 5:30 PM in the Devon Room at the Alison Blvd Work Centre.
• Region 4 – A Pen, Bathurst, Campbellton, Edmundston, & Miramichi union meeting scheduled forSeptember 27th at 5:30 PM via conference call and members are asked to meet at the usual CO locations.

Members wishing to nominate anyone for the position of Local 506 Vice President via email, can send their nomination(s) to both union’s general mailbox (unionoffice@unifor506.ca) as well as to the individual(s) they are nominating.  The nominee will “Reply All” (to ensure both parties receive the response) as to whether they accept the nomination or not.  All nomination acceptances via email must be received by the Union Office no later than September 30^th.

All nominees for the position of Local 506 Vice President are asked to forward their resumé to the Union office on or before September 30^th, 2023.

The Election Committee will then meet on October 10, 2023 to perform its duties as per Article 8, Section 8.01 of the Unifor Local 506 By-laws. If an election period is required, the Election Committee will declare it to be from October 15^th to October 31^st with the online polls open for voting for that two-week time period and an email will be sent to you with a password that you will need in order to submit your vote online.

As usual, this election will be conducted online and the results will be announced on November 1, 2023.
