The NBFL 16th Blair Doucet Youth Summer Camp
Sisters and Brothers,
Preparations for the 16th Blair Doucet Youth Summer Camp are well under way. The camp will be held at the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton from August 1 – 5, 2016. The camp runs for 5 days, starting on Monday and closing on Friday.
The objective of the summer camp is to educate high school students (from grade 9 to grade 12, inclusively) on labour issues. Students who will become future workers, or even managers, attend workshops on labour history, health and safety, sweatshops, collective bargaining, human rights, etc.
Each participant will be offered a $250 scholarship after their high school graduation and their acceptance into a post-secondary education program. The instructors come from unions and are recruited by the Federation.
