Call for Issues / Bargaining Proposals
The Common Interest Forum (CIF), which is comprised of the Council Executive and Senior Management, meet three days/month, 8 months of the year to discuss the Issues that are submitted by members to the Issues Caucus. The last Issues Caucus was in March 2012 and we are planning one for April 2014. The collective agreement expires December 31, 2014 and we are preparing to discuss the Issues that will form the new Collective Agreement.
With the CIF process in place and in keeping with Article 9 of the CEPACC By-laws, we are required to request Issues Proposals from the membership every two years. At one time we would have called these ‘Bargaining Proposals’ but now that we are in the CIF and constantly bargaining with the company, we call them “Issues Proposals”. This is your opportunity to tell us what Issues you want discussed at CIF!
These Proposals could include changes to the collective agreement or just something which you believe would improve the working conditions of members. Describe the Issue as clearly as possible and you might want to include any suggestions on how you think that Issue could be resolved. Please write only 1 Issue per form and submit as many forms as you like. Please write in the collective agreement Article number, if applicable.
You must include your name and Local # for your suggestion to be considered.
All proposals must be submitted on the proper form. Forms can be obtained from a steward, executive officer or on the CEPACC website (www.cepacc.ca) [links below for forms].
