Election for Local 506 President

Hello Members of Unifor Local 506:

This is Alain Boudreau, chair of the 2016 Election Committee. This is an update regarding the elections for Unifor Local 506 President, and Secretary Treasurer.

For the role of President there were two nominations at the September sub-local union meetings. Sandy Brideau accepted the nomination at the September 14^th Region 2 Moncton union meeting and Adam Costain accepted the nomination at the Sept 19^th Region 3 Fredericton union meeting.

Voting will be online and members will receive an email on Thursday, October 13^th from the Local 506 Election Committee with a user name, password and a link where you can cast your vote. The voting will take place from Saturday, October 15^th at midnight to Monday, October 31^st at midnight. The resumes for each candidate will appear in a link to the right of each candidate’s name on the voting website. Please note that if we do not have your personal email address on file, the email message will be sent to your work email. If you do not receive the email at your personal or work email address please contact the union office at 506-634-8810 or yvonne.fox@unifor506.ca  Election results will be announced on November 1, 2016.

For the role of Secretary Treasurer there was only one nomination. Ronald Benoit accepted the nomination at the September 21^st Region 4 union meeting.

The Election Committee has reviewed the nominee’s résumé and is pleased to announce that by acclamation Ronald Benoit will assume the role of Secretary Treasurer and will be sworn in at the December Executive Board meeting.
